Abstract: This paper presents a centralized protection strategy for DC micro-grid [DCMG]. The proposed relay uses different processes within the CPU. The input data is the current signals measured by the CTs located at the beginning and end of each line. The results showed that when there is a fault in a specific transmission line, the CPU sends a signal to cut off the current of the faulty line only while transmission lines and other loads continue to operate. The implemented strategy shows the ability to discover the location of the error without the use of complex calculations. Lab View results and simulations on MATLAB show that the implemented scheme is fast enough to ensure the integrity of lines and networks and to keep loads fed by DC buses and other critical components of the system running. When DCCBs are used on all DC lines, it is not economically viable in MG and distribution systems. ACCBs are applied in the execution circuit, which gives this implemented method a significant advantage.
