SCADA based Control of Gas Plant Inlet Pressure by Manipulating the Choke Valve of the Highest Pressure Well

Abstract:
Controlling the gas plant inlet pressure can be achieved by manipulating the choke valve existing at the more powerful remote well. The transport delay is introduced in such control system. This transport delay affects the plant inlet pressure control system stability. The main aim of this paper is to design a control methodology that overcomes this problem. The proposed strategy was simulated and compared to the classical strategies. To apply this methodology practically a communication system between the well head and the plant central control system was established. The established communication system solved the problem of the geographical nature, achieved low economic cost and the relocation possibility of the wells. The installed proposed system achieves successful communications with the remote wells. This paper presents the solution of these problems and provides the integration of the practical and theoretical part of this solution.
